Graduation

If you are a student in the Indiana University High School diploma program and have just about finished your diploma requirements, talk to an IU High School academic advisor about applying for graduation.

If you're applying to colleges and universities and need a letter of recommendation from an advisor, contact an advisor for a form you can use.

If you would like a letter of recommendation from one of your instructors, send the instructor

  • your resume.
  • a paragraph about what you did in the instructor's course.
  • a paragraph describing why you want to go to the college or university you've selected.
  • a stamped envelope addressed to the college.

Common Application #

The following information is for Indiana University High School seniors planning to graduate any time during the academic school year and who will be completing the Common Application for their college application(s).

  • Students need to begin the process before the start of October.
  • Students applying for Early Decision should start in early September.

IU High School information they will require:

  1. School code: 150219
  2. Counselor’s name and e-mail address: Steve Ritter (ritters@indiana.edu)
  3. Class rank: N/A (IUHS does not class rank)
  4. Weighted/Non-weighted grading scale: Non-weighted on a 4.0 scale
  5. Class size: 25

After you have submitted the information, your counselor will receive an invitation to complete the school report and counselor recommendation. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for IU High School to complete and submit your application material. Do not wait until the last minute to meet a college’s deadline.

NOTE: You will need to do a transcript request through Genius (the IUHS Student Information System) and state that it is to be used for the Common App. IU High School cannot complete the counselor recommendation until that has been requested.
